Day Twelve

What you believe.

I believe...
-in a thing called love. Though it sounds naive and idealistic, I firmly believe that with a little more love, compassion, more evenly distributed resources, and better education our world could put an end to some of its devasation.
-in spirituality over organized religion.
-that human rights are being infringed upon as we continue to segregrate same-sex couples from the rights of marriage.
-in the arts.
-a universal moral code.
-that we are all interconnected by a higher power. We may all differ in our explanation of what that cosmic force may be, but that is where wars begin and friendships end. When we lose the ability to feel connected to our fellow man, we have lost all hope.
-that there is some untapped potential in all of us.
-in a woman's right to choose what she is allowed to do and what she will not allow to have done to her own body.
-in legislating morally, not legislating morality.
-that a cup of hot tea, a bath, and a good book can soothe the soul.
-in the curing powers of friendship.
-in healthy debate.
-that education is the best gift someone can receive.
-that family should be valued and cherished.
-that influential leadership has the ability to transform communities.
-that there is no place like home.
