Day Ten

Something of which you are afraid.

Upon reading today's topic, I immediately asked my stepmom and my Dan what exactly it is that I am afraid of. So far I've got everything to do with scary movies, the black space visible when a closet door is left open at night, masked peeople, and a little fear of failure. Honestly I can't think of many things that make me afraid. Rodents, bugs...they disgust me and creep me out to no end but I'm not scared of them, per se.

It may sound weird and might not make any sense but I think the thing I am most afraid of is myself. Clearly I'm a scary person. Sometimes I get scared of the opportunities I won't take or the future I may or may not have. I am very indecisive and constantly second guess my choices. Then again I can also be very impulsive. What I mean to say is that I have the ability to talk myself into or out of any situation. I am both a help and a hindurance to myself. I worry that I won't work hard enough to accomplish my goals and see my dreams into reality. So really, I guess I'm not afraid of myself but rather of me stopping myself...if that makes any sense.

I'm going to try and channel FDR as I continue to take chances and face the future:

"The only thing to fear is fear itself."
