Day Twenty-Three

Favorite Vacation

I have no idea. None. I am terrible at choosing a favorite anything. So here are a few of my favorite moments from my vacations abroad:

Maui, Age 2-Don't remember a thing. Do know that my sister peed on my dad's lap at the beginning of the flight. Priceless.

Cruise to Mexico, Age 12ish-The blue waters of Cabo San Lucas. Seeing the church where Ali's grandmother was baptized in Mazatlan. Dancing swing with my dad on stage. Meeting a girl from Alamo who I had heard about prior to the trip...small world!

Kauai, Age 13ish-Hiking through the canyons. The amazing lemonade at Hanalei Bay Cafe.

London/Greece/Turkey, Age 17-Taking pictures at the London Bridge with girl friends. Singing at Kinderland with MVHS choir. Climbing up burning hot marble to see the Acropolis. Sipping apple tea in Istanbul at a rug-weaving shop.

London/Paris, Age 18-Seeing the Eiffel Tower in pouring rain. Walking along the Seine. Seeing Mary Poppins in the West End at the same theater Julie Andrews made her premiere performance as a young girl.

Costa Rica/El Salvador/Panama, Age 20-Fruit off the back of a truck and coconuts off the tree. Surprising Becca at her family's hotel! Riding through a flood in an old Range Rover while Becca and I brush our fingers on the waves.

Florence/Rome/Cinque Terre/Umbria/Venice, Age 21-Aforementioned story of getting stuck on a train. Laughing with friends in their Florence apartment.

Now Dan and I just need to get ourselves on a plane and to a foreign land :)
