bachelorette designs

i am really not that much of a girly girl when it comes to decorating. give me simple, comfortable, warm, casually elegant decor any day.

(though dan once asked, "can we have a picture on our wall that ISN'T a flower?" i calmly explained to him that nature is gender neutral by design. he's been accepting ever since.)

our apartment walls are filled with claude monet, vincent van gogh, the classic chat noir, european photography from my traveling friends, some renoir, family photos, my sister's painting, and the classic target masterpiece.

but when i saw this bedroom, i immediately missed the bachelorette, highly feminine, ruffled, bohemian mixture of colors, and bright walls that i never even wanted.

maybe in our future home i can have a craft room/library decorated just like this...with quotes, bright colors, and piping hot tea all for my enjoyment.

  1. Haha I love this post. Reminds me of Scott and I when we were building our first apartment together. Scott literally said the same thing about all my flower pictures. Said they were feminine and whatnot. He agreed that nature was gender neutral, but we had to compromise on the amount of flower pics.:) He was really opinionated when we were decorating our first apartment and picking out things for our registry... 2 years later I pretty much decorate on my own now and he only makes me take stuff back if he HATES something. Most of the time he just shrugs his shoulders.:) I do love that girly room though. Actually it sort of reminds me of Emily for some reason! I know exactly what you mean though! I am still waiting for my girly craft room... maybe in the next house.;)
