warehouse beauties
Earlier this week Nedda and I had the grand pleasure of working for Brittany's dad at a warehouse in Sparks, Nevada. We were told to take inventory of the warehouse and seeing as though Nedda and I know absolutely nothing about cable companies, our conversation for two days sounded like this:
-"One large spool, black cable, unmarked"
-"Black cable, item number CAT5 CMP/4 0112a7"
-"One spool?"
-"Yeah...large."
It was actually hilarious. Ned and I rolled GIGANTIC spools of cable around to look for any sort of descriptive number... serial, model, part, item...anything! We laughed and had fun climbing up and down the ladder to take pictures of large, unmarked boxes.
Here's a glimpse into our paradise:

not to be confused with:

All of our hard work deciphering illegible and/or nonexistent codes made us starving! Nedda and I probably drove around Sparks/Reno area for an hour before finding food. iphones are great but only if you know the difference between 4700 NORTH Virginia St. (Pleasant home of yummy food) and 4700 SOUTH Virginia St. (Nowheresville with a stop off at University of Nevada at Reno). You would have thought Moses parted the red seas when out of nowhere came Olive Garden, Claim Jumper, and Chevys! We praised the food gods and ate several Olive Garden bread sticks (they were covered in cocaine of course, so the addiction was truly not our fault).
We spent the night at the Atlantis hotel and were lucky enough to have this night sky:
We rewarded ourselves by spending a day and a night in Rubicon, Tahoe with my Mom and Mike enjoying the sunny beach for reading and sun bathing (and some painful sun burning) and cherished the fresh pine tree air for walking. Nedda, Mommy Renee, and I drove home together...a.k.a. had four hours of girl talk. (Side bar: For those of you who know my mom, please imagine receiving relationship advice from her. This is a relatively new side of Mommy Renee that is unleashing slowly. Everything she said was valid but absolutely hilarious hearing it come from my mom!) All in all we had a great time and laughed our way through the comical warehouse situation.
you crack me up! um...can you tell my wife that the Olive Garden is gross? thanks. she really wants to go there and i clearly do NOT. hahaha
ReplyDeleteI myself have had some encounters with spools, only instead of wire, we wrap something else around them. I bet you can guess:)
